Andrew Lass, narozen v New Yorku (1947), vyrostl v Praze a žije v Jižních hudličkách (stát Massachusetts, USA) kde působí jako profesor sociálně kulturní antropologie na Mount Holyoke College. Na podzim roku 1968 se stává členem pražské surrealistické skupiny. V roce 1973 byl z Československa vyhoštěn ale od roku 1990 se opět účastní skupinové aktivity, kolektivních výstav a přispívá do časopisu ANALOGON.

Kromě fotografie (které se věnuje od 14 let), píše eseje a čmárá perokresby. Je autorem několika básnických sbírek. Mandala a Hra na slepou bábu, psané česky, vychází v Praze jako III.Svazek Edice Analogonu (1995).

Při fotografování se drží principu náhody a jeho nature morte nejsou nikterak aranžovaná či digitálně zpracovaná. Jak negativy tak tisky jsou dělány tradiční 'mokrou' technikou.

Zdeněk Tichý, narozen 1960 v Praze, bydlí tamtéž, pracuje jako správce počítačové sítě v Knihovně Akademie věd. Zde také pro potřeby AV zaznamenává některé události, jako je předávání různých ocenění a jiné akce. Je to jedna z mála příležitostí, kdy fotí na barevný film.
Fotí od roku 1995, spoluautor básnicko-fotografické knížky Do důchodu zbývá 1/360 otáčky, kvítečku, ilustrační foto do knihy Jana Pelce Šmírák, několik malých samostatných výstav, pravidelný účastník fotografické soutěže "Praha fotografická" s několika oceněními.
Při zpracování je schopen i z jemnozrných černobílých negativů vytáhnout zrno jako brambory. Neví jak to dělá, nicméně vzhledem k tomuto faktu se zrno vyskytuje i tam, kde by nemělo být. Tudíž se z toho snaží ex post vytvořit přednost a autorský rukopis.

Andrew Lass, born in New York (1947), grew up in Prague and lives in South Hadley (MA). He is a professor of social and cultural anthropology at Mount Holyoke College. In the autumn of 1968 he joined the Prague surrealist group; in 1973 he was expelled from Czechoslovakia. However, since 1990, he is once again involved in the group's activities, its exhibitions and contributes to the journal ANALOGON.

In addition to photography, he writes essays, draws squiggles and is the author of several collections of poems. Mandala and The Game of the Blind Old Hag, written in Czech, were published in Prague in 1995.

While taking picture chance is his guiding principle, and his "still-lives" are never in any way arranged or digitally altered. Negatives as well as prints are made using the traditional, 'wet' process.

Zdenek Tichý, born in Prague (1960) and living in Prague, works as a network system manager at the Czech Academy of Sciences library.Here he also doubles as a court photographer, taking pictures of special events (such award ceremonies), and it is on these occasions that he works with color film.

Interested in photography since 1995, he is the co-author of a poetry-photo book 1/360 Turns Remain to Retirement, Floweret, provided photo illustrations for Jan Pelce's The Snooper. He's had a few solo shows and is a regular, with several citations, at the photo competition "Photographic Prague."

During processing, he is capable of producing grain the size of potatoes from even the finest black and white negatives. He has no idea of how he does this. Nevertheless, grain appears even in places where it shouldn’t. For this reason, and after the fact, he tries to turn this situation into an advantage and considers it his signature style.
